Hi all!
I started riding in 2004 at an old age ;), my first bike was a Sportster. Traded in the sportster for a 2006 Street Glide (wife decided to go along, now I can't ride without her :D), then I made the mistake of taking her into a Harley dealer and she spotted an 2007 Ultra (do I need to say more). Also own a Sportster Nightster (two wheels, can I say that ). Because of a physical disability, the Ultra was getting hard for me to handle, so I installed a Trike Shop conversion this fall. We have about 2k on the trike and will be going south for February and March and plan on doing a lot of riding. We are very happy with the trike and I probably should have converted to a trike much earlier.

Saybel, I have heard that several times, where people wished they had converted eariler. I hope U continue to enjoy ur trike and get some good riding in when U head south. I am assuming that U are going to Florida??
Have a good trip where ever U go and ride safe.

Hi saybel, Glad you found us here. I'm not old, I just look and act like it..:D I pretty much did the same thing because of ankles and knees..But I LOVE it. Ride safe and join right in..

Not sure where we are going. For several years we went to Gulf Shores, Al, Last year we visited several places in Florida, this year maybe Arizona.

Thanks Trikerjim
I pretty much know where you are coming from, I'm about in the same boat.

We usually go to Ocala in Dec or Jan. Not going to make it this year too tight a work schedule. Went to Gulf shores last year stayed at Anchors Aweigh RV park. Go to Destin 2 times a year to Topsail hill state park love it great park.
We have about 100 Corps of Engineers camp ground close to our house so we use them when we can all are along the rivers. Hope U guys have a great trip.

Interesting, we were near Ocala for 2-3 weeks in March. We have friends that stay at Anchors Aweight RV park every year January-March. I'm going to check out Topsail hill State park the next time we stay in the area, thanks for the tip.

We have a 37 ft toy hauler so we take the trike and Escapade trailer with us.
Topsail is great if U can get in there. Any spot in the 100 section is great, we usually try to get a pull thru so we can unload the trike easier. we book 11 months in advance, but check back often due to people who canx.
Last year in Florida we stayed in Umitilla, at Ole Mill Stream campground. Good place in the center of everything.
We always park the RV and truck and then take the trike every where else that is why we have the triler so Cathy can shop (she got mad with me telling her she could not buy anything due to no room).
We found out when we stayed at Anchors Aweigh that the people who own it lived about 10 miles from us. Small world. Very nice people and very helpful.

When we went to Gulf Shores we rented a house for two months, so we pulled a 6x10 trailer and the bike. We then had a truck for the main transportation, and the bike for site seeing etc.. Last summer we purchased a used motor home and pulled the bike and trailer behind. So we only had the bike for transportation when not on the road. This year we have the trike and it will be so much easier to get groceries etc..

We don't have a trike trailer and don't have room for one when traveling south, it sure would be nice to have when home, and on the road if I could come up with a way.

We looked at going to a toy hauler, but we  went with a motor home, shows who's boss.

p.s. Thanks again for the tips on the campgrounds.

I ride a trike , been ridding since 2001 because I like the looks the attention and the no worry feeling . I also like ridding 2 wheels. Just my choice . Still wish I did it 10 not 8 years ago it is such a hoot.

I agree! Isn't it all just the most fun? The stability when everyone else is worried about the gravel in the corners. The attention and the thumbs up. The ease of rolling it around. The attention and the thumbs up. The extra storage. The attention.....

One of the first times we rode the trike, we were backing out of a parking space, and I noticed a group of people close by watching us, one of the guys was taking our picture. That surprised me, what's so special about a trike, especially mine, nothing fancy.

It only happened one other time, when I was pulling a large 5th wheel with our crew cab truck.

Nana, maybe it was because you were riding the trike.

maybe that's why our picture was taken my wife was on the trike.

Pictures..... I bet my bike has had its picture taken 500 times. People run out at traffic lights and stand next to it so their significant other can get a picture. Gas stops take 10 min. to fill up and another 30 min to leave. I was working at a place 60 miles from my house it was a Gym ( I fix treadmills etc. ) I was talking to a guy about my bike. Another guy overheard my description of the trike. He walks over flips open his cell phone and there is a picture of my bike that he took at Americade

Gettin your pic taken, kinda makes ya feel like a celeb......
I was rideing on the highway and I could see a motorcycle gaining fast from the rear and I was moving along at a pretty good clip. When it caught up, they slowed to my speed and the passenger started taken pics.......and my trikes not even completed. Puts a smile on your face and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy in side, don't it?

John, it could also have something to do with that beautiful paint job on your trike!!! I know I enjoy looking at the pics I took of it!

You'd think as many trikes as there are, people would consider them common now but thats not the case. They draw a crowd everywhere you go. Ive also noticed that they are gaining the "cool" status nowadays....maybe because The Motor Company has brought them into the mainstream.
