Front wheel

Hi, can anyone recommend a front wheel with a cable Speedo drive.

The wheel I have uses a speedo like you would fit on a bicycle.

Thanks Dave.

I found my older smaller 16" rim to be off a Honda, it has drum brakes and as I looked to repair them I noticed a few different makers do a cable speedo.

I currently have a 18" rim, wow lost the maker name, it actually has a set of spacers and a drive piece that mount on the axle shaft up against the bearings. I did not want it, and I use the electronic speedo for now.

Yamaha was another I noticed, oh I searched Ebay for weeks daily to find what I wanted and what would work for me.

Swapping wheels can become a nightmare real quick due to all the variations of axle diameter, step locations, and lengths. If you have an IRS transaxle with CV joint axles then this can provide a drive signal for an electronic speedo such as VDO:

Another alternative is a GPS driven speedometer. Here's a driver module that will work with any electronic speedo that will accept its pulse rate outputs: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/41612/10002/-1?parentProductId=

If you really must run a mechanical front wheel speedo then here is some info to get you started on the wheel swap: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=20952.0

Though the first 2 options look more expensive on the front end, they will probably look much more appealing as you are struggling with modifying axles and spacers and speedo cables in a front wheel swap.

There are also some cheap Chinese (You get what you pay for...) GPS speedos on Ebay. Just search Motorcycle GPS Speedometer: https://www.ebay.com/itm/85mm-White...029999&hash=item2156b9c77a:g:YfIAAOSwvIBcml0r
