Little Help Please !

Just look at a VW Trike. Was not running but the guy said the timing was off.
He said the engine was 1500 VW 1961. Had Harley front end all chrome with some rust. He said he wanted $2500.00. I said I was leaving because I could not afford it. He then said $1500.00. Is this a good deal or not. Any info will be greatly appreciated.:Shrug:

Beware, timing takes about 5 minutes to do if u know what u are doing. Could be more wrong than timing.. Get someone to check it out for u who knows about VW,s.

I second Katfish. VW engines are very very basic. I would suggest that whatever you decide it should include a replacement engine. The 1600 dual port engine was a much better engine. Good luck

Sounds like a bit much for it and not running, a good old single port 1600 motor is sometimes better than a dual port,[better mileage]
