Question Concerning Harley Horn Mount

Since the Harley Horn Mount is bolted directly into the left side cylinder heads, has anyone, not using the Harley horn mount, experienced any issue with increased cylinder head movement, vibration, and/or flexing independent of each other. I am concerned that totally removing the Harley horn mount strap will decrease the cylinder heads top support and allow the aforementioned to happen. I would like to hear you thoughts, concerns, and PRO/CON statements regarding this thought.

Thank you in advance,

Allen S.

Question Concerning Harley Horn Mount - Part 2

I forgot to mention I own a 2014 Tri-Glide Liquid Cooled 103 CI. At this time, I am trying to decide which fan model to purchase, the chrome Mighty-Mites or Cool-Master. As part of my decision process, I need to know the measured distances between the left/right fans of each model to determine if my 4.5" Round Horn Cover will fit in the space between the left/right fans. Any help with the measured distances would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Allen S.

First, I have the frame mount. I use to have the horn bracket mount but all the vibration was causing some fan failure. Had to replace fan 3 times over two years. Since mounting the frame mount, I have had no failures. As far as flexing of the cylinders I have had none.

If your going to by the fans I would suggest the mighty mites. They cool better and if you ever want to mount a Jag Oil Cooler you have the room. Approximate arm length of fan from center of horn bolt to fan housing edge is 4.0"
