Having recently purchased a used 2019 Gl 1800 Tour DCT with a CSC conversion and determining that the gear oil was due to be drained and refilled I reviewed the owner's manual. I preferred to not have to remove the right rear tire so I searched the internet for an alternative method. I did not find what I was searching for so I called CSC and spoke with Will in service who said he developed a technique on draining and refilling the gear oil without removing the tire. He did not go into details and I did not ask for any but figured if he developed a technique so could I.

My father used to say "Don't throw anything away, there will be a use for it". He was far from a hoarder and his basement looked like an ACE Hardware store. With this in mind I found a section of clear plastic tubing with a 1/4" ID that fit on the end of the gear oil bottle tip. I ran the tubing between spokes on the wheel and above the hub and inserted the end of the hose inside the fill hole. Gravity did the rest and there was no waste or mess.

Thanks Zammy,

I'll b doing my refill, as soon as it warms up a tad here (18* in my garage as we speak) with that temp and using 80/90 gear oil, it would take all month just to drain, and then another month to replenish.. lol

Thanks for the remind'rrr as well, as the pictures on HOW TOO....
