Started my trike today, to go get fuel. My engine light came on, and my ABS light came on. I drove up to Lowes. Went inside to do some spending. I came back out, and everything was normal. No engine trouble light or ABS light.(was initially was flashing on start up). After getting gas I went home and checked out for codes. ECM Y UO121h, also UO2067h.

BCM Y B2285h, UO121h, UO184h. SPEDO Y UO121h, UO184h. Looked up on google. ECM- UO121h was: Loss com /w ABS. Couldn't find U2067h. BCM-B2285h was: Low Battery Voltage. UO121h was Loss com w/ ABS. UO184 was Loss Com w/ Radio. Spedo- UO121h was Loss com w/ABS. UO184h. Loss com w/ Radio. Anyone know what U2067h is? Funny how it just came up out of the blue. Then next time I started it up, it was back to normal. I'm scheduled to go into the dealer next week for some work. We'll see. Oh forgot to add a BCM code. UO2087h can't figure out that one either.

All of the U codes are communication codes in the can bus system

A couple of the codes you have listed I cannot find any info on

How is the health of your battery? The reason I ask is the can bus system does not play good with voltage variations

[FONT=Roboto Condensed, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Historic DTCs are stored for 40 ignition cycles to assist in diagnosis of intermittent faults. On the 40th error free cycle, the DTC will clear itself.

Just turning the switch on, I'm at 12 volts. After it starts, I'm at 14-15 volts. It's never failed to start. I do use the reverse to back into the garage. But only about 4-5 ft. Slight slope.

PS. When I got those codes, I drove about 2 Miles. Shut it off. When I came out of the store, everything was back to normal. When I got home, that's when I looked looked up the codes. There they were in the history.

Have your dealer explain what happened and why, it will be interesting to know

These can bus systems are to fussy IMO

I had a reoccurring code on my 17, it finally went away and stayed away, My Power Vision never did pick up the code, I found that pretty odd.

Good luck and do check back in to let us know;)

I sure will Jack. Got an appointment on June 1st. (New slip-on mufflers) Thanks for your input.

Codes

I took my trike into the dealership to get new slip-on's put on. I asked them to put the trike on their machine. They came up with something with the turn signal. The other code might have been caused by the battery voltage. ?? They never gave me an affinitive answer. So I got the trike out, and it ran fine. The Rineharts sound great. Took it for a 200 mile ride today. No problems. I got a couple month's before Sturgis, so I'll just keep an eye on it.

And, so the Saga continues.

It's been a while since posted my issues of the codes on my trike. Not that it hasn't been happening. It has. The latest episode was just the other day. Went for a nice 250 mile ride. Trike ran fine. Got home, turned it off. I turned it back on to get the mileage for the day. Dash lit up like a Christmas tree. ECM: U0121. U2067. U2087.

BCM: U0121. SPEEDO: U0121 Getting really tired of this Trike. I was just at a dealership last week for a new front tire and 15000 mile service. They check for codes as part of their service. Didn't find any. I had them put Syn-3 in the engine, Harley Davison Heavy Duty Gear oil in the transmission and Primary. Seems to run smoother. Any way, I'm starting to think I got a Lemon. I going to another dealer tomorrow to check the codes. They are in the History now. Any one happen to know what the U02067 and U02087 codes are?

By the way, we're heading to Sturgis Again. 24th year.

Harley is keeping alot of the U codes a secret, most always is a lost communication with the BCM

With your ongoing problems someone @ HD needs to step up and IMO replace your BCM

Your next step should be to get customer service @ corporate involved, they will open a work history ticket on your trike

codes

i have a 2019 trike. I had the same codes with mine for along time i was told ride it till it

breaks. I called customer service and they sent a tech, it took four times of complaning to them and four visits to finally get a fix they downloaded something and cleared the codes that was two years ago.

they replaced the anti lock brake unit which didn't stop the codes also. The bcm was replaced also i got about half a mile from the dealership before the code came back. I hope you get it fixed it was a pita.

A little history on my trike. When I 1st bought my trike, the intercom didn't work. They dealership took a radio out of a new trike from the showroom floor. Put it on my trike. Next issue was, the ignition switch key was really loose, and wouldn't let me lock the fork. Seemed after that, I started to have problems. The only time I have codes, is when I shut the trike down for a break, water, rest room visit. I come back out and that's when the codes appear. Trike runs great all day, till I shut it down. When I have the problems, I lose the speedometer, the tachometer, the cruise control, the mileage doesn't advance. It won't let me clear the codes. If I drive about 20-30 mile down the road, it will let me clear the codes, and starts to run great again. Till next time. I drove 150 miles today, and it ran fine. I talked to a friend in the HOG group today, and he gave me a name of a tech at another dealership that he said 'is the Guru' of electronics. So, I called and got an appointment for next Tuesday. Thanks Jack. If this doesn't work out, I'm going to call those number's you gave me.

I took my trike over to the dealership that's supposed to be the Guru of electronics, on Tuesday. I called them on Wednesday to find out if they found anything yet. They said they haven't looked a it yet. I told them, I wanted it before the weekend. They called me on Thursday, said it was ready to go. They said they found a bad ground on the frame. ???? Picked it up on Friday. Drove home in a rainstorm. So, I have enough time before my trip to Sturgis to see if it messes up again. If it does, I'll call those numbers that you gave me Jack. Personally, I don't think that is the fix. We shall see.

FWIW - My 2014 TG had a few mysterious code issues about 7 years ago, didn't think much about it. In the middle of a trip to the Smokies, stopped for breakfast, then the group headed out. I started up, but as soon as I started to roll, the bike went completely lights out. Got started again, and it happened again. Only a few miles from Rocky Top HD in Pigeon Forge, so I pulled it in there. Told the Service Manager what happened, so he came out, started it up and it did it again. I had ESP, so they used the bike into a bay and started troubleshooting. After a few hours, I saw that they had the front fairing off, and were looking at the wiring harness near the fork neck. Service manager finally came out with a couple short pieces of wire in his hand. He bent one, and it stayed bent, the other sprung back straight. He said "This is your common ground wire in the main harness where it goes past the fork neck. Evidently it got pinched enough there to break through the wire conductor without cutting the insulation." They put in a new ground wire, and 6 hours later, I was on the road again... for $50.

Maybe not what you are looking at, but it made me a baiter in the finicky nature of the can bus and the importance of grounding.
