Update on 5 thieves at my house

well in order to not say anything that could lead to future "self incrimination" all i will say is those five would not have been telling their side of the story when the polce showed up

All I can say is lord help the fool(s) who comes onto my place uninvited as my AK-47 full auto doesn't ask questions and leaves no tales, it emptys the 20 shot magazine in 10 seconds, never timed the 75 shot mag, just leaves big holes.

I will only shoot to protect my family or myself because I don't have a lot of money for lawyers and if I take a life I want to know I did not have any other choice.

I am a retired police officer and a current Criminal Court Bailiff. In my state of Tennessee the fine print says you have to be in fear of your life...so if you must fire and hit someone be sure you tell the responding officers that you are the scariedest s.o.b. on the pike! For home defense, such as going to the door, buy a $3 can of Wasp and Hornet Spray. It has a range of about 20 feet and is better than tear gas in the eyes!

He is right, I have that spray too plus my 12 ga. semi-auto FN loaded with 10 rounds 00 buck. I remember one thing "DEATH MAN CAN'T TALK"

Y'all remember now if you come up to Canada on a holiday riding your trike leave the guns at home 'cause they'll take 'em at the border and you'll be charged.

Yea, there is a man in Florida trying to save his life right now because he shot a kid. Everybody talks big but when you are in that position you better be damn sure that your life is in danger before you take the life of another human. Otherwise, let the cops take care of it.

It was quite a while ago, but I see the thread still generates some friendly advise! The deal is, guys, the wife and I are older, can't hardly stand up, let alone defend ourselves. Next, is the law enforcement and "protocol" here in the Bam. Sherrif told me, in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, if they return, in a group, or alone, kill them, they are dangerous men. Now I'm not a violent person, nor do I WANT to shoot someone. Heck, I don't even kill animals! Anyway, I knew the actual LAW, before I spent the money on handguns. I have training, I also have a permit for CCW.

Now what I believe is the problem today is, the crooks feel safer and protected to some degree, by the LACK of a "Castle Doctrine" in most places. Alabama will not prosecute you for defending your property, or your life. In my situation, these guys were already wanted, and they were armed. Now if I would have shot somebody, I'm sure it would have been a harrowing experience, but I'd have done it in a second, if I needed to. I understand that possesions are NOT worth a life. But if someone is in your house, shop, or garage, and you stumble on a punk with a Mac 10, would you just go back in the house? Would you turn your back to the guy and his weapon? I choose to stand my ground, and kill you if you push my hand. JMO jimsjinx

There should be a point system for criminal offenses, once you reach the limit, you no longer exist. It would save a lot of money in the court system.

It is always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6 AMENThumbUp

I like that idea of wasp spray, will have to get a can or two, me too retired police, Nashville. I used to not carry all the time, now, a Glock is on me at all times. I may be a senior, but one thing, I can still shoot it. Plus having access to the gun range is a plus. Karen

Minor detail in an update: One of those punks is now up for attempted murder! He shot 2 innocents, (old couple), running a little store in the boondocks. What a waste of human life. This turd had more opportunities to get his act together than most of us, and he CHOSE to shoot this poor old couple. They even offered the money up, with no resistance. Both victims survived, but at 70+ years old, I'm sure they are afraid to go outside now. Makes me wish I had shot the SOB when I had the chance. jimsjinx ((PS... My new "bang Stick" is a Kalishnakov(sp?) .410 shotgun with a 30 round mag, loaded with magnum slugs and buckshot. Makes a real mess out of a watermelon at about 15 yards!!!!!!!))

NO Free College Degrees & Post-Grad Education for Degenerates from the wallets of working Americans who struggle to make ends meet and re-pay their own student debt-
I am very much a gun rights person, and I carry most everywhere I go.. BUT, I guess I view this a bit differently. In the end, I HAVE to live with myself, my actions, and what I've done. I DAMN SURE want to be sure I can sleep at night knowing I did the right thing. I'd much rather not have someone's blood on my hands and my conscious knowing simply displaying my weapon and restraining would have been fully effective. I DO NOT want to stand before those pearly gates and explain to the man upstairs why I took one of "his children" when I had another option and choice.

Maybe it's just me, but unless my life or my families life is in immediate and deathly danger, it's simply not worth it.

With all due respect,,,I beg to differ.
I lack the powers and abilities required to pry into the mind of a criminal in action to accurately ascertain his complete intentions or the extent to which he is prepared to go in order to complete his mission and escape/evade capture and future identification and prosecution.
Given that, it is not only safe but logical, rational and prudent to conclude that the safety and well-being of myself, those around me, and others as of yet to be determined are WITHOUT A DOUBT in imminent and real danger. Therefore inarguably, elimination of that threat by any and all means necessary and at my avail with extreme prejudice is not only warranted but justified and required.
There are unfortunately many things we as humans will have to answer for when we hopefully arrive at those hallowed gates. This is a regrettable consequence of the very nature of our fallible existence as ordained and defined since creation of mankind. Furthermore, as humans, none of us can even begin to venture a guess as to what is or is not "sanctioned" or excused/forgiven by The Lord carte blanche. As such, the fear of Divine punitive recompense as a preventative to the action as debated is illogically presumptive and flawed.
Don't misconstrue my statements, points, arguments and stoic stance as a desire for blood and death. Nothing could be further from the truth. As the honorable General MacArthur so aptly put it in his final commencement speech at WestPoint, Above All, I pray for peace (abridged and truncated I know) but am fully prepared and equally at peace with accepting the scars of responsibility and wounds of action whether physical, mental or spiritual.

P.s.

NEVER draw/expose/point/reveal your weapon UNLESS you are fully capable, prepared and committed to firing with intent to KILL. Period. I believe it is safe to assume you have been trained accordingly and as such agree with that statement. If this is correct, your point of countermeasure in its entirity is moot. If not correct and you, or anyone reading these points, disagree then you should seriously reconsider your decision to carry concealed.
I sincerely mean and intend no offense (or to start any pi**in match grudges) only to prove a common-sensical point of refutation.

I carry and have for a year now. I spent 33 years in the USAF and feel trained and ready to use a weapon if necessary. I was M9 and M16 qualified. I now carry a SR40C Rugger. I hope the day never comes when I have to pull my weapon in self defense or for the defense of another person.

My brother-in-law asked me about getting a weapon and carrying concealed. I told him that unless he is ready mentally to pull his gun and kill a person he should not carry because if he isn't ready to take a life the bad guy will just take his gun from him and use it on him.
