Took about a 125 mile ride and just a few miles from home we hit a heavy rainstorm with lots of puddles. Kept riding and had to hit the brakes at one point and the front end started to shake soon after whenever I braked. I am sure I warped a front rotor as it has not gone away. Replacing soon. Anybody else have this experience??:AGGHH:

Raise the front end, hold a pencil or something else on the front fork with one end close to the rotor. Spin the tire and you can see if the rotor is warped. Personally I would be looking elsewhwere also, . steering shock. steering nut, axel shaft, etc.

Problem only happens while braking and I can feel it in brake lever. If you google it warped rotors can happen after hard braking in wet conditions. Axle would be all the time and the steering head adjustment is a-ok! Before I change I will do the pencil trick you suggested. Have caliper and rotor covers on now so can't try it. Thanks

I had to replace both front rotors just after the warrenty went out. They were both warped. I dont remember the mileage, probably around 20 thousand. Now I have about 34 thousand and the replacements are a little uneven, so how long they will last is up in the air.

I had to have my front rotors replaces twice because of the same issues, heavy rain one time and construction dust the other -- both time the warrenty covered the rotors but not the pads -- make sure you have them replace both rotors not just the one that is warped.

Just had to have both rotors replaced due to being warped. They did it under warranty. I paid for new brake pads for the new rotors. I was at 28,500 miles and 19 months.
