True this on your post. I quit hauling a trailer long ago. I use soft luggage and if it doesn't fit in the trunk, it's not going.

I just put my hitch on after having it for almost 2 years in the box. I was ready to carry the cooler!
My tip(maybe won't apply to you)- If you every think you will add a hitch, but do slip-ons first- replace those security bolts above the mufflers with hex bolts while the slip ons are off, you might not reach them without lowering mufflers. Or do mufflers at the same time!

Another thing I forgot to say, with the tongue coming straight out you can still get into the trunk if needed without the lid hitting the trailer ball, with the high tongue on the rivco it would hit the ball unless you opted with the lower tongue, even the kuryakn one is high, my cousin has this hitch and he has to be careful getting into the trunk and if going down the road and trunk pops open the lid will hit the ball and so some damage, just saying. Wanting to add a trailer hitch to my 2013 Tri Glide. Any recommendations or advise?
Any info on wiring in electrical plug for the trailer as well. I can handle mechanical projects but electrical on these things is all voodoo to me.
That's the hitch doc hitch that is on my trike. It's very heavy duty. Way more than any other hitch I have seen anywhere. Love knowing that mine is so strong. Again, this hitch ball will hit the trunk door with the trailer on the ball. I had to cut my hitch bar and lengthen it and lower it when I put on my bumper and wanted to make it so the trunk door wouldn't hit the lock on the trailer coupler. Still the best hitch I think.

My trunk door didn't hit the ball but it did hit the trailer latch when the trailer was on. I don't know if it would clear your Harley bumper but the one I made wouldn't allow the trailer to mount onto the ball once I installed the bumper. I made my bumper tight to the body with about 7/16 clearance but the round Harley bumper may not be a problem with the radius of the tube.
All in all its not hard to fix the issue if you know someone who can weld or just take it to a weld shop for modification. I have plenty of clearance on my setup now that I extended and lowered it.
I will take a picture of mine with the ball mounted when I get a few minutes to myself.
Retirement is such hard work. LOL.

Where did you get your cooler carrier ?
I just installed a hitch from Kuraykan and the wiring harness with isolater from Open Road Outfitters.
