2014 Tri-Glide Thread

Saw a '14 today and was told no cb. If this is true does HD offer a plug and play and at what cost???

That's true- there is no cb or cd. You can have a CB installed but I didn't even ask the price.
Spent most of yesterday reading the manuals and then setting up the nav/gps/radio. Be sure to set everything up before you leave your garage as you will have an urge to fiddle with it on the road and that is really bad.
Rode about 100 miles today. It does have more power than my 09 tg. Below the odometer there is a gear position indicator, very nice. Adjusted the wind deflectors and at 95 degrees OAT, it wasn't too bad. Hooked up a flash drive (w/1000 tunes) and it played nice. TG will not start in gear unless you apply the brakes. I put my hwy pegs on but I think they will be useless in the summer but should be toasty come winter.
Enough rambling. More later.

Sloufoot, have you ever had a rock break your headlight? I never have and I don't know anyone who has - not saying it won't happen, but the odds are in your favor. :)

I thought the oil pressure gage was in the infotainment unit. If not that's a step backwards.

Rivercityjack, How does cooling the heads eliminate the heat from the exhaust and cat? My dealer says he thinks they should still have the oil cooler. Guess I'll have to ride one to know for sure.

I thought the CB came on the top of the line radio. If not that's another steo backwards. I did see a CB add-on package in the P&A catalog.

I also saw the add-on saddlebag guards and front fender trim that H-D took off the touring models a couple years ago. What's next, take the oil pan off and offer a standard one or a larger one in the P&A catalog? This is crazy - take things off and charge more - isn't that a Ponzi scheme?

Someone told me they thought there was going to be a lot of driving mishaps with riders looking down at all the pretty lights and the GPS. I like my GPS up high by the windshield so I don't have to take my eyes off the road at all.

I do like the gear indicator. Very sad about the CD. That is a deal breaker for me -for now - I might change my mind, but not until they come back out with the Sunglow Red paint. If the color isn't right, it doesn't matter what improvements they make - they could put in 120 motor and I still wouldn't buy it. Color is everything - to me. :D

garyd. Just take all your cds and burn them to a flash drive. The flash drive plugs right into the system. You can search etc the flash drive with the controls on the handlebars. Much easier than messing with cds. I put about 1000 tunes on a 8 gig drive and just plug it in.
My tg is the red/black and it really looks pretty good. It's different than the pictures.

Is a "flash drive" the same as a "Thumb" drive?

Yep, same thing. My 2012 Wing has a usb port inside the tour-pak that I can plug one into or I can plug in an Ipod then control the Ipod from the stereo.

Mike, Do you meen 7 days to start or 7 days to finish? Also are you doing the install yourself anyway Good Luck.

Nightrider, you may be right. I need to come out of the cave, but I still like messing with CD's. :) .......and I do have an mp3 player in my Garmin Zumo GPS as a back up for the CD's so I don't have to stop to change one. ThumbUp

But no matter what - if the color is wrong it doesn't matter what they do. I would even say more important then the music choice. I'd have to look at the every day - and I'm not going to spend thousands to get it repainted.

they are liquid cooled with 1.1 quarts of coolant. this to me does not seem like enough coolant, but it is better than none i suppose.

capt, my service manager agrees with me that H-D should have kept an oil cooler - he doesn't think just the water cooling will be enough.
We'll just have to wait and see once more people start riding the new ones.

OK, let me get this straight. The $33,000.00 TG does not come with the CB anymore. Is that right?

What about AM/FM?

Come on TRENT, you got that much in chrome on the trike and I am hearing the front door to your house is chrome

H-D web site says the black is 32,549,two-tone is 33,899,& the custom is 34,299.The people i have talked to around here said they weren't marking them up!

All black/solid/2colors are up about $1,500 roughly from last year, with the special sand/brown one about $400 over the other two-tones. I saw it today on an ultra. It's not worth $800 on top of the regular two tone price.
Did they get new guys to pick colors this year!!
That Daytona Pearl is beautiful, but, of course not on trike. I was hoping for Candy orange/ beer bottle!
