What Did You Do To Your Freewheeler Today?

Grocery shopping between rain storms

Keeping an eye on the tropics this week end, looks like Florida will be under the gun

I am alo noticing less felt heat and rocker arm noise with the Straight 50 weight HD dino oil I put in @ 820 miles, the break in oil was pretty dirty, drain plug magnet hat a bit of fuzz.

I dunno if I will stay with HD dino oil, may switch over to a full synthetic 50 weight

I your climate Jack, this would be the way to go in my opinion, especially during the summer months.

As far as filters, The Mobil 1 & K&N performed excellent for me & tested well with the oil sample I had analyzed after 2,100 miles.

Took off the passenger floorboards. Wife can't ride anymore and I'd just as soon not carry a passenger anyway. Filled the 4 bolt holes with 5/16" hole plugs from Lowes. Eventually going to install a standard set of black rubber passenger pegs from Harley just in case somebody really, really wants to go for a ride.

PegBoard Floorboards, with Pingel 1 1/4 extensions.

I've seen a few of them and they do look sharp, but so far the factory floor boards feel good, which is something I thought I'd never say. I'm going to try a trip down to TN and back and start making decisions on what, if any, changes I might make. Oh, by the way, I love that color. Painted my old '59 Pan like that.

Phone Charger

Re-routed the battery tender connector with an extension into the trunk of my Freewheeler and plugged in a dual port USB adapter that turbo charges my phone. I would have preferred to get the Harley versions, but they weren't in stock. The USB adapter has an on/off switch and displays the voltage output from the battery when on. Hopefully it will work out. Need some way to keep the phone on when out and about.

This is in my Freewheeler trunk. The picture is sideways but the plug is not.

I was thinking of going that route. It's very clean installation. I didn't want to have to keep removing the left side cover and unplugging wires to connect my battery tender when the time comes. Just figured it might be more convenient to have everything in the trunk. Battery tender and all. Guess time will tell.

I don't understand why you have to remove the left side cover and unplug wires to connect your battery tender.

The USB port is plugged into the battery tender wire which, in my case, was stored under the left side cover. Should I need to plug my charger into the battery tender wire I have to pull the left side cover, unplug my USB port and attach the charger. When I'm done I'd have to unplug the charger, re-plug the USB port and put the side cover back on. With the battery tender connection in the trunk I just have to open the trunk and everything's right there. Or so goes my thinking anyway.

My USB is plugged into the Auxiliary Power Port, HD Part Number 69201099. I bought it 5/02/2017, so that may have changed.

My battery tender is readily available at all times. I can use them both at the same time, if I so desire. I had this set up on my 2015 Freewheeler. This is a close up, it's not that obvious when looking at the trike. I am not saying my way is better, just sharing information.

I like your idea. It eliminates having to disconnect the USB and would leave the battery tender available, but I didn't see any kind of auxiliary connector under my seat. Maybe I'm just not recognizing it.

No you cant, but you can click on that post to edit it

Thanks. That's how I ended up asking the question. I wanted to respond to a post from a few weeks ago and ended with having it show up at the end of this thread with no correlation to the original context. I was hoping I could just delete it and try again, but not being able I deleted the original text and switched to the question. I'll watch closer next time. Thanks again.

It is all good, it happens to us all;) You can now go back to older posts to edit them, this is a newer feature.

Prior to that you had a very narrow window to edit posts

My wife nearly traded her Freewheeler along with my Heritage and Sportster today for a 2021 Snake Venom Tri-Glide. The Tri-Glide is used with 2,200 miles on it. It was too much for the previous owner to handle. It would have been a no cash, straight trade. The previous owner installed several accessories. Asking price was $38,888. We decided to pass on the deal. My wife loves her Freewheeler and I'm not ready for three wheels.

Accessories don't really increase the value of the bike. May make it easier to sell at a normal price, but the potential buyer may not like the same accessories that the seller does. I love my 2021 Freewheeler, but it's black. The Snake Venom scheme, while wonderfully done, contains my two least favorite colors, purple and green. Not for me.
