I will be adding a set of Love Jugs to my 2020 TG and I will be using the tank mount for them. While I have the tank off I thought that I would also add the tank lift kit when I reinstall the tank. I know that I don't have to remove the tank to add the kit but I thought that while I'm doing the one addition I might as well do the other. Any thoughts on what the best height lift kit should be used or is it just a matter of personal taste. Also, is it a good idea to add the optional kit that moves the tank back a little. I'm still a firm believer that buying the TG was the cheap part. Now all of the upgrades need to be purchased. :D

From what I have seen on here that people that did it, most went with the 1.5 inch lift with the deluxe option, some have did the 2 inch, I know Fearless did and his trike is a 2009.

All for now Trampas

I did the 2" deluxe lift on our trike and it really seems to help with getting more air on the motor, which means a little cooler and less buffeting in the face and chest. If you do a tank lift I would strongly suggest installing the Air Deflectors Kevin has developed which have been a God send to the trike it has really reduced heat. I also removed the mid frame air deflector to give the heat somewhere to go. I tried this after Kevin mentioned it once in passing my bride says she has no increased heat on her left side leg and foot. Stay safe Fred

On the Tri Glide you do not need the Deluxe Option in order to move the tank back. BUT, the Deluxe option does give a few benefits:

It lets more air flow over the engine for cooling

It exposes more of your chrome

It makes it easier to clean

It slightly changes the angle of the tank, sometimes allowing a taller tank lift to be used while maintaining clearance

Most folks do go with a 1.5", but you can easily check your clearance, following the instructions at this LINK, to see if you have clearance for a 2" lift.

btw, some folks also use the 1" lift. While taste does enter in on deciding the height, so does clearance, and perhaps the biggest is how much do you want to cool the engine and reduce rider buffeting.

I personally use a 1.5" with the Deluxe option, because of my custom bars, a 2" is a bit too high for good clearance. Otherwise I would use the 2" for best cooling, and reduction of buffeting.

As Fred mentioned, consider the CDW's at the same time. They are very effective.

Below is a new video we just did on Tank Lift Kit that you may find useful.

I went with the 1 1/2" Deluxe kit and kinda liked it. One of my riding buddies has the 2 1/2" and looks 100% better than mine. I worked a deal with the guys at DK and got the 2 1/2" Deluxe and love it. You will not go wrong getting the 2" or 2 1/2" Deluxe.

Ok, just ordered 2” tank lift with deluxe option and cooling deflector wings for my birthday present to myself, which is tomorrow, can’t wait to get. Next on the list is the 606 air cleaner and external breather kit.

Congratulations you will be very happy with the upgrade. Do yourself a favor do the upgrade with the low fuel light on much easier to handle the fuel tank. I did it the other way. Stay safe Stay Home and Stay Healthy Fred

Just installed the dk customs tank lift with deluxe option and cdw’s , very easy install, now I need to clean those dirty covers now that I can see them, will also have to play with the angle of the cdw’s more great products from DK, thanks Kevin

Thank you, we appreciate your business, and I believe you are going to like the benefits while riding.

Feel free to email us some pics of your ride to put on our website.

Tried for 30 minutes to post some pictures, which I have done before, I’ll keep trying, and I’ll email you some Kevin

Kevin mine had about 1/2 a tank of gas in it and I didn’t have any problems at all, took about 30 or 40 minutes to get the lift and wings installed, very easy upgrade, hopefully tomorrow I can try them out during a ride.

Awesome!

I did the floorboard extensions yesterday. Maybe try the tank lift today. If I remember correctly I think the tank is pretty full and it's raining so can't go out and to burn through some.
