Freewheeler "Chopper" Project

Curious to know if the tires growing is what is starting the oscillation. Kevin

Thanks Kevin.

I am pretty sure it is a combo of growth and the air being shed by the big (deep tread pattern) tires.

Mickey Thompson said T-Bucket Roadsters that use them generally put a 1.5" gap between the tires and the flat fenders (if they use them)

I plan to mod them when it gets colder. I can run up to 60MPH with no issues

Would adding Nitrogen in the tires help at all? I've been told that it helps the tires run cooler. At least that's what they told me when they charged me for doing it to my tires - Russ

I prefer a special blend of gasses consisting of about 80% nitrogen mixed with about 20% oxygen and a few molecules of carbon dioxide and a splash of hydrogen and neon as a stabilizer.

I am looking into 27" dia Formula 1 Tires as a first option.... then its the gas ax for the fenders and a rebuild if that option does not pan out

Over the winter, I was thinking about working with Bill Holland to put a Harmon Girder on the front end.... here is my traditional crappy photoshop of that idea....

Met a guy at the Bike show today who could help me do that.... Hmmm.......?

(Note the yellow headlight will be the polished Headwinds Tomahawk on the trike now and not the yellow bates one you see here...)

If Bill is busy/has a long build schedule, there’s Tim Statt at GigaStatt Cycles. He can do anything you can imagine and engineer it right.

Thanks! From Tim's website it looks like he will be a real asset in my NEW science project.... I just love riding the new Free too much to take it down for a lengthy mod. So I got a donor bike and....

Here we go again!!!

Hey Jeff, what happened with your rear fender issue?

Solved...just not done yet. Have the solution engineered just waiting for January or so to take the bike down. I have put 1800 miles on it since it got the paint finished and I am REALLY enjoying the rides. I was out last night in 30 degree weather and rode for around St Albans and Washington MO.... freakin cold... but really nice

G'day again Mr. Madriver and BTW.... Welcome to Trike Talk !!!

Where is the world are you and your trike?

I see that Tim Statt is in U.S. New York. Does he have a shop. There is no contact data on his web site and his last Twitter Tweet was over two years ago

His Instagram site shows some GREAT and very applicable science on his softail frame mod so I would like to talk to him.

I am going to Start a thread for the new build over on the "Harley Conversions" forum and will report on my new project there
