I would like to know what is in the kit, Thanks Doc
Kevin, looks like you're nearing the end...(although that never, ever seems to really happen!)
Looking for some advice on our TG16 with approx 34K miles.......1. Have already done most of SAFETY/VISIBILITY front and rear that I'm going to do. 2.Done with some COMFORT items..floorboard relo, trunk relo, HD hammock seat, Kury passenger adj footpegs, Kwerks handlebars, Kury crash bar pegs etc. 3. LONGEVITY/RELIABILITY...DK tank lift, cooling wings, oilfilter/cooler relocation kit, Mighty Mites.
So, if you had approx $5k to put towards the trike over the next couple of years, your thoughts on order of upgrades and reccomendations?:
PERFORMANCE/POWER - Stage 1..Stage 2, but keeping stock exhaust, leaning towards torque.
COMFORT - 14" Pro Actions with Comfort Lift.
COMFORT - FST Cartridges...(I'd do chrome lower forks at same time...gotta look nice!)
RIDER/PASSENGER ENJOYMENT...upgrade stock speakers and amplifier.
Thanks for any info....thought about calling DK and talking it out...may still do that, but thought it might fit in with the thread as well...although, I realize this is for your new Trike, not your 14.
Bill
Rake your own advice ... go with the E Series Mufflers .... you too can ride a Honda Gold Wing ... Devin would love to give ya some of your own medicine ...
Thanks for the quick reply Kevin!
I've taken off grab rails, and have a rider backrest full size sheepskin, and we add the HD Road Zepp air pads on longer rides.
The plastic film was already on the bike when I purchased it, and have extended brake lever and extended shift levers, Tether on T Pak lid and power point! (Great minds....? Ha.)
Only 6k on tires since I purchased this spring...they were new front and rear...have been following your Avon front tire travels.
Agree with the 14" shocks and comfort lift. Will do that this spring. Follow this summer with Stage 1 and tuner and wires....T Torques with stock exhaust? If I mess with catless headers and new pipes will blow my budget I'm afraid!
About the time for a new (Avon) front tire next winter or spring, will tackle the front suspension.
Thanks for helping spend my money!

T Torques with stock exhaust? If I mess with catless headers and new pipes will blow my budget I'm afraid!
Synopsis of where we are so far with this '19 Tri Glide-
Started out with the following priorities:
- Performance/Power
- Longevity/Reliability
- Rider/Passenger Comfort
- Handling
- Safety/Security
We have been working our way down the list.
Performance/Power
So far I've put the Chrome 7 Spoke HiFlow 606 Air Cleaner on it, along with a Premium Discrete Breather System. I did a video of these installs that can be seen at our Youtube Channel.
Still running the stock exhaust. Have not made a decision on what to do there yet. The Softail and Sporty exhaust is very loud, so it is a bit nice to be quieter...but it is a bit too quiet, plus it is restrictive, choking back some of the available power, so I am going to do something, just not sure what yet.
I have the Power Vision mounted, enabling me to monitor what is going on. But I have not flashed a tune yet. The M8's do not have a super lean condition from the factory (see report on that HERE), so, while I don't have the absolute best tune possible loaded, the factory tune is not a bad one.
Longevity/Reliability
A few things I've done that affect both power/performance AND longevity/reliability-
Added the Cool-n-Clean oil cooler and oil filter relocation, along with a Performance Oil Filter. These three items make it run cooler (last longer) which results in it running stronger. There are videos of these installs, and before and after temp testing, on our Youtube channel.
I also removed my left side thigh guard, enabling air to flow better around the back of the rear cylinder.
I also added a Tank Lift and Cooling Deflector Wings for better cooling, equaling more power & better longevity...also reducing buffeting. Videos of install and temp testing also on our Youtube channel.
I also installed some Mighty Mite Fans for the same reasons and benefits above. There are Videos of both the install and the before/after temp testing on our Youtube Channel.
We also ceramic coated all of the paint and the wheels. It is holding up well, and makes cleaning it MUCH easier. Video of that on the Youtube channel.
I also installed some protective film over the ceramic in high exposure areas.
Rider/Passenger Comfort
This is the category I've probably done the most work on so far.
Using The Comfort Triangle as a guideline, the following has been done-
Custom handlebars installed (also put some ISO Grips on and my Drink Holder at the same time)
Floorboard Extensions installed
Fatty Highway Pegs with Heel Rests installed
Took my backrest, airhawk and sheepskin from the '14 and put them on this '19.
We put Mary's cut down Tour-Pak back rest on here.
Installed the Tour-Pak Relocation to get her some more room. There's a video of that install on our Youtube channel.
We installed the Adjustable Passenger Pegs for her.
Then a bit later we installed a prototype of the Passenger Floorboard Relocator, she really likes that! No more grab handles digging into her thighs. I still need to pull the prototype and replace it with a production model.
We installed the 14" Trike Series Shocks, along with the 14" Comfort Lift. Installation and testing videos are on the.
We installed the tall recurve LRS windshield off the '14 TG onto the '19. It is doing a good job, but it is pretty swirled up.
We installed a Tour-Pak rack, as well as Mary's Drink Holder.
Inside the Tour-Pak I installed a power point for charging, and also a safety tether.
Also installed, for ease of mounting and dismounting, is the Trike Mid-Step. With my foot and knee, plus my handlebar set-up, this is a very Big improvement for me.
I also installed a longer heel shift arm, along with Extended ISO shift pegs. Very nice improvements.
Handling
Besides the handlebars, Comfort Lift, Trike Series Shocks, which all make for easier steering and a more stable (less roll) platform, I've not done anything else yet in this department.
Safety/Security
I took the custom, one of a kind, front fender mud guard off the '14 and put it on this '19.
I took the rear bumper off the '14 (it was also on the '11) and had it re-powdercoated, and then installed it on the '19.
While doing the Tour-Pak Relocation kit, I also installed the Tour-Pak Filler LED Run-Brake-Turn Lights. There is a video of that installation on thel.
Still To Do-
I believe that is where we stand right now. Still have a bunch of things to do, below is a partial list-
1. Since I am transferring oil from the transmission to the primary, I am going to be installing the Vent Kit and making a video of that. Yes, I could get it done under warranty, but it will cost me less to do it myself, PLUS, I'll be able to do a video of it.
2. Still gotta figure out what to do about the exhaust, get it done, and then do a tune.
3. Need to add some LED Run-Brake-Turn Mudflaps to the rear fenders.
4. Need to add the Stealth LED front Turn Signals to the front forks.
5. Need to install some Stealth LED Driving Lights.
6. I am missing my Extended Brake Pedal Arm, need to get that installed with the ISO Pad.
7. I am going to be improving the front suspension with the addition of the FST Cartridge System. I had the AK-20's on the '14, and they were great, but the FST is almost as good, at a fraction of the cost, so I'm going with those this time.
8. Before too many more miles I will be replacing the factory Axle Bearing Retainer Plates with some that I can trust.
That is all that I can think of right now. We are thoroughly enjoying riding this Tri Glide, just like our previous ones.
Check out the 3000 mile review video, if you have not already, at this.
I am sure as we ride more, there will be other things that come up that we can do that will improve in one or more of those 5 critical areas.
Kevin, I’m curious about the axle plates. I remember reading about you replacing them on your previous trike, are you doing this as a precaution? I was thinking you would wait till at least 20k before doing them.
Thanks
This afternoon we are filming the installation of the Primary Vent Kit. Should be up on Youtube sometime next week.
Hopefully it will be the end of my trans to primary oil transfer.
Kevin
Looking forward to the video and hope it helps, so far the people that have had it done, it worked, have heard also that it didn't.
All for now Trampas
