Power point

I want to install a cigar lighter on my trike. Where would be the best location to get the power, and fuse size?

I'd run power all the way from the battery or a AUX power distribution panel through probably a 10 amp fuse. Use 12 gage stranded automobile wire and tie it up so it will not get chaffed or cut.

On my 99 Valk which had no pod. I added a marine grade supposedly water proof lighter off of Ebay to the risers.
1 bolt and let it sort of hang over on the left side.
Same thing on my Road Star.
My 2010 GW slightly off center in the lower right panel so it doesn't hit the radiator. A bit inconvenient since you have to let go of the throttle to light your smoke.
But had no clear spot on my left side. The socket fixture is pretty long about 3 inches or so.
I used a 20 amp inline circuit breaker type fuse on all of them.
They do rust a bit inside and or get wet from time to time. So better with the self resetting breaker then a fuse.

I then went off a 20 amp fuse in the fuse panel. I just jammed the bare wire end in a fuse and its stayed in almost a year so far to my surprise.
