What pressure are you guys using in your Avon Cobra Trike front tires?
I run 38 cold. I end up at 42 to 43 psi at operating temps.
The 38 psi cold works best with the Traxxion Dynamics front suspension for either highway riding or mountain twisties. Tire wear is normal at this psi.
I also have the Traxxion AK-20 cartridges and Traxxion springs. At 41 psi the sharp bumps are rough so I've thought about dropping the pressure to 38 psi. I may give it a try.
Thanks for the info.
If you have the Traxxion adjustable fork caps, you may want to experiment a little with those settings for your riding style and loads. I finally settled on an a cap screw adjustment of about 1.75 turns counterclockwise from full closure.
I know you will notice a difference. Experimenting with the settings and riding on different terrains is the key.
Enjoy.ThumbUp
I don't have the adjustable caps. Other than the sharp, shallow bumps my Traxxion front end handles the road extremely well. Just thought the tire is not absorbing those sharp bumps the forks can't respond to.
BTW, how does a guy from Florida know about twisties?

I run 41 cold, most always two up. Do you ride two up and 38 cold? I thought many times abut giving it a try but concerned about the wear.
Here’s an update on my Avon Trike Tire . My second tire failed with only about 4K miles on it . The tire had 3 bubbles and a small slit in the sidewall. My dealer told me Avon would warranty the tire but might take up to 6 weeks to get reimbursed. My dealer told me it was just a bad tire. I’m curious, has anyone else had an issue with that tire ? I did choose to replace it with another Avon Trike Tire & will continue running it ai 41psi.
I ride 90% of the time solo. When I do ride two up, I will increase front tire pressure to 39 psi.
Keep in mind, I do not have a stock front fork suspension system. I have the CSC rake kit and the Traxxion AK-20 front fork suspension systems that function best at about 37 to 39 psi. The front end ride will become harsh if front cold tire pressures are above that range.
If you have a stock fork front suspension system, then you should probably stick with the recommended 41 psi cold pressures.
Tire wear is even and consistent without scalloping.
I'm either number 3 or 4 and have not had any problem. Several of friends are also running the Avon Cobra Trike and have not reported any problems.
Just on the wild chance, have you compared your pressure gauge with another person's gauge. Might want to do that just to insure you're not overinflating it.
Dropped mine to 39 psi and did 200 mile club ride yesterday. Difference was night and day! Will continue with 39 psi.
