What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

It's been mostly in the 30's and 40's for the highs for the last couple of months.* But we have had a few days in the 60's recently.

I went for a nice, long Tri Glide ride on back roads a few days ago....it sure felt nice with the temp getting close to 70 F.

Then the next day was in the 60's too, and Dwayne came over to shoot videos on his new toy.* A Suzuki thumper.* Went for a little ride on it.

I much prefer the relaxed ride on the Tri Glide to being scrunched up on that thing.*

I had these bags left over from my Ultra so decided to add them to the trike in preparation for our 4 corners trip this May. They always came in handy to carry small stuff.

I couldn't bring myself to drill holes to mount them so I put a layer of 3M film down to protect the paint then used 2 different types of Velcro to hold them. I found the "self mating" type to give up pretty fast when pulled on. But if you use the hook and loop, loop side type with it, it locks on extremely tight. saddlebags.jpg Bag1.jpgBag3.jpg

I added a piece of plastic on the bag of the bags to give it a nice flat surface. If I end up hating them I can just tear off the film. No holes!

Took a day ride to Vegas a couple of days ago, 300 miles round trip. Just about froze my fingers off as I crossed the higher elevations on the way there. I had ordered some electric gloves that arrived the day before but they were too small. The youtube channel "Project Farm" had rated them as the best glove, a third the price of the other gloves and now they are sold out. So these go back to Amazon while I wait for warmer weather.

Today I added the floorboard extensions for a wider footprint. I should have done this long ago. It sure made a difference.

150 mile ride with two other riders in Texas heartland; hill country Texas. A little chilly at first, turned into perfect weather for a ride. First time in the hill country, we saw race cars on the roads. You know; fat tires, very loud exhausts and “numbers” on the doors. I’m guessing that they were taking advantage of the fact that Texas DPS, and the rest of our LE officers are busier trying to stop the invasion of illegals along our southern border.

Finally figured out how to make a ride on Harley Ride Planner transfer exactly to my GTS as I planned it. Not too bad for a two or three day trip but more then that is time consuming. I think I'll stick with just putting in the destination in, set the avoidances and hope for the best. The ride planner is good for getting an estimate on time and miles point to point. But if you need to go off the beaten path, on specific roads, it can be time consuming to plot just to loose it all in the transfer.

If you really want to be route specific you must add lots of waypoints just after where you want to make turns. You're right... it's very time consuming and the chances of it sending you way off your route are great. Good for studying a route ahead of time, but I've found that I cannot rely on it. Learn how to "skip waypoints" and you'll be fine.

If you've ever followed a Butter Bar through a NAV course, then the HD ride planner ain't too bad. I've used it a few times and transferred to my BOOM and never had much issue with it. I have the APP on my phone as well and I like it best for tracking my rides especially when I just head out and wander. It helps me get back to hidden finds later. Lol.

Had to look that term up...lol

Point to point ride planer works well. I didn't know how important the waypoint placement was. Ya can't just drag it and forget it. Then expect the bike to know what you meant.

Made 4 runs to the deli today to pickup subsidence for the starving grandkids..

Maybe I should work for DoorDash..😁..But then I know those kids they probably won’t tip..

DK Customs tank lift

Well added another option to my 21 Tri Glide today. Just trying to minimize the heat a bit. Few months back I installed the floorboard extensions from DK Customs and that gives you much more room not to mention heat on your legs. I went with the "inch and a half" tank lift and the "rear option". Don't know if anyone with a 21 Tri Glide has installed the tank lift along with the rear lift but the front top lift bracket on right side was a bit tough, not much room. All the cables and wiring goes through right side. I removed the two rear tank bolts and slid the tank back couple inches to have more room to start installing the bracket on right side. Worked best for me to loosen the plastic cradle/protector so you can get a wrench in there to finish the tightening of top nut on bracket. Left side install was a breeze....

Reset the clock from Guardian time to Daylight Saving Time…And without screwing up the other settings..👍

Replaced the water pump a few weeks ago but now I don’t think the fan comes on like it did before my replacement , is this ok? Every thing else looks good.

Hi Lynn, :welcome: to Trike Talk and your first post

You can test your fans here

Turn run switch to run (do not start bike)

Roll throttle to WOT position and hold until fans run, then roll back throttle to idle (takes a couple seconds for fans to come on after holding to WOT)

Both fans will run as well as water pump

To stop test, turn run switch to off

Just a thought here being you had to replace the water pump the old pump wasn’t working well and the engine was overheating a little so now with the new pump the fan doesn’t have to turn on to cool the engine as much..
